To gently lengthen, strengthen and release tension from your back
Pilates exercises are essential to maintain a healthy back, and making it strong and flexible. The exercises aim to increase and to maintain the flexibility of the spine, and work to strengthen the deep postural muscles; the abdominal muscles, the pelvic floor and the deep back muscles, to support the spine and to release excess tension of the back. Through increased body awareness, one learns to position the spine in a healthy alignment, which is called a neutral alignment or a balanced alignment, respecting and recognizing the curvature of the back, and the alignment of the joints. This healthier back better supports the weight bearing of the everyday life and decrease the wear and tear of the discs and ligaments and the surrounding regions that comes from lack of strength and poor alignment.
